Special thank you to Emma Porteus

Everywhere I have lived Ravens have lived there too. An omen of death and suffering has claimed my home as its territory. As these birds grow and procreate and thrive, I feel as if the pain they supposedly represent thrives with them. I have always known this to be true in the places I have inhabited.

In Shakespeare’s ‘Macbeth’, ravens are a symbol of inevitable evil.

This project consists of 100 photographs taken over 10 years. They are a mixture of 35mm, 120, and 4x5 film photographs, and digital photos.
They are observations of the spaces I have physically inhabited, and continue to return to.
My behaviour and the behaviour of the ravens I am observing are one and the same.
