Hot Mess
I was asked to be part of a group show called ‘Hot Mess’ which brought together artists from Tasmania and Canberra to express what Queerness meant to them. Of course, I put in a quilt.

Curated Beau Belle Palmer and Zara Sully
‘HOT MESS’ is intersecting and celebrating a group of local Ngunnawal/Ngambri (ACT) and Lutruwita (TAS) based gender queer, queer and disabled artists.
‘HOT MESS’ speaks to queer audiences and allies, as a celebration of seeing creative institutions through a queer lens. True diversity and equity comes from understanding each other's experiences.
‘HOT MESS’ supports artists from Lutruwita and Ngunnawal, as they have thriving regional queer and gender queer communities that are not at the forefront of representation when it comes to Pride within Australia. This show will intersect the experience of a total of 16 queer artists and 4 performers, in a town where Queerness was illegal until 1997. This celebration hopes to bring a sense of belonging in this community - a fundamental part of human nature and mental health.
HOT MESS ARTISTS:
(ACT) Zev Aviv, Rat Bedlington, Marlene Pringle Radice, Tom Campbell, Beau Belle Palmer, Lucy Chetcuti.
(TAS) Alfie Barker, Mish Miejers, Lychandra Giesman, Clara Martin, Enya Arsenal (Performance), Marguerite Carson, Olly Read, Kate Marshall and Hera Fox (Performance).
